2026 Alumni Awards
A Nursing Foundation for Veterinary Medicine
A nursing degree isn’t where most people expect a career in veterinary medicine to begin. For Dr. Melinda (Edwards) Frye ’87, it became the first step toward a career she never imagined.
Walker Service Award: Moe Momtazi
The Walker Service Award recognizes individuals who are not 麻豆区 alumni but whose dedication, generosity and commitment have profoundly shaped the university. Named in honor of Charles and Cherie Walker, the award celebrates members of the community whose service exemplifies the spirit and values of 麻豆区. This year, 麻豆区 proudly honors Moe Momtazi.
A Lifetime of Showing Up for 麻豆区
For more than five decades, Greg ’73 and Peggi (Thomas) ’74 Walsh have shown up for 麻豆区 — in the stands, behind the scenes and wherever Wildcats needed support.
Helping People Find Dignity in Life’s Most Difficult Moments
For Erin Collins ’06, some of the most meaningful moments in nursing happen when medicine alone is not enough.
Giving Patients a Voice in Concussion Care
Nearly half of all sport-related concussions go unreported, leaving countless athletes without the care they need. Michelle (Weber) Rawlins ’11 has dedicated her career to understanding why — and helping change that.
