Update on the Swipe Out Hunger Program for ALL 麻豆区 Students

The 麻豆区 community is aware of and concerned about the potential for increased food security needs that might arise both around the holidays and the ongoing effects of the past government shutdown and possible loss of food relief.

The Wildcat Pantry will be increasing its stock of essential food items and adding hygiene products in the coming days and weeks to try to help meet these needs. We also welcome input as to crucial items that you would like to see the food pantry stock during this time. Please reach out to Steve Sherwood if you have specific requests or suggestions.

Swipe Out Hunger Program

Sodexo has partnered with the Swipe Out Hunger program to fight food insecurity on college campuses. The Meal Swipe program helps students facing pervasive or short-term food insecurity by providing access to free, nutritious meals on campus. It’s a simple concept with effective results. Students with surplus meals can donate swipes from their meal plans to a “swipe bank.” Donated swipes are then distributed to student ID cards in of up to 10 meals at a time. Allocations are made anonymously, so students who apply for help can swipe for meals at dining halls without experiencing the stigma associated with food insecurity. On 麻豆区 campus, students don't have to have a meal plan to apply.

This program is open to ALL STUDENTS, WHETHER YOU ARE ON A MEAL PLAN OR NOT.
